I was brought up on Wirral. The peninsula and my beloved Liverpool FC feature in my work. My growing up was done in Bristol, my home for over 30 years. The City and it’s surrounding counties provide inspiration for my work.

I first discovered the joy and freedom of painting on 12th May 2020 during the Coronavirus pandemic. I was inspired to paint by my partner Ellen and our daughter Nieva as we explored activities during lockdown. Ellen and Nieva have always created together and I decided to have go myself.

My very first painting was a self-portrait, “Lockdown 1”. Encouraged by family, friends and work colleagues I have continued to practice and explore my approach to creating. I am just starting on this journey and have been fortunate enough to quickly receive a number of commissions for work.

My portrait work is produced in my studio at home. I prefer to work on landscapes from the locations themselves, en plein air, or from photos and sketches collected whilst on a walk or visit.

I occasionally like to write a few words as a poem or a blog. These are included in the “Words” section of this site.

Enjoy.
